There are two brand new instructors to meet and greet at the Currier Memorial School this year. Tyler Truax will teach a combined class of first and second graders. He grew up in upstate New York and attended college at the State University of New York (SUNY), Plattsburg, from which he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education and a Masters in Special Education. After teaching elementary students for 10 years in Glens Falls, he settled in Danby this summer for his first teaching position in Vermont.
Monica Schwartz hails from Charm City, also known as Baltimore, with a Master of Music Degree in Music Education and Composition from the Peabody School of Music at Johns Hopkins University. Her musical instrument of choice is the bassoon. Schwartz’s career path in education eventually led to Vermont, where she now lives with her family in Sunderland. Schwartz teaches music for all students at both Currier and the Sunderland Elementary School.
