Parents and students from Manchester Elementary Middle School walked, biked, scooted and skated to class on Friday morning in the inaugural FEET FIRST FRIDAY. The event orchestrated by the MEMS Parent Teacher Organization is designed to foster school spirit and good health. It also promotes green ways of traveling to school, reduces traffic on our roads, and inspires independence in our children.

Partners in today’s walk-to-school include the Northshire Bookstore, Manchester Community Library and the Town of Manchester’s Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park. Students and families rallied at all three locations before heading off to class.

This morning’s brisk weather added a bounce to everyone’s step. All the students arrived to school on time. Look for more FEET FIRST FRIDAYs in the future.
